Private Investigator Balasubramaniam accused the POLICE

Mainstream newspapers appear to make it appear as though the sworn
statement is to convict Najib. This is extremely far from the truth.
It is a complete lie.

He never accused anybody. He simply repeat what others had told him
but these statements were not even recorded officially or even
mentioned in the trial.

Both the Police and Public Prosecutor were implicated in the sworn
statement.

Now the police is asked to investigate whether the statements were
true or not.

This is just ridiculous. How can you ask the suspect himself to
investigate its wrong doing. Of course the Police will deny it.

It is so easy to confirm whether the statutary declarations were false
or not. Just put Balasubramaniam in court.

This fact is so clear that his life and that of his family is in
danger. The accused, i.e. the Police has lots to gain by making him
disappear or even better dead.

By making the second statutory declaration that he lied in the first
sworn statement, it no longer matters if he were dead or missing.
There is no sure way to confirm completely whether he lied or not,
even though common sense will tell you that the second statement just
a day after making the first one, was made under duress.

To imply that Anwar threatened Balasubramaniam for retracting his
statement is just stupid but this is what is believed by many readers
of Malaysian mainstream news agencies. Anwar does not gain anything at
all because he was not accused. Also, he is not powerful or well
equipped.

If Balasubramaniam were dead, Anwar will not immediately become the
Prime Minister. However the Police, as the accused party in the first
original statement, will gain a lot.

It is the Police that is the most dangerous party here. They are well
armed and well equipped. The Police also has the most to gain by him
being dead.

As for accusations against Najib, there is none at all. He also
revealed that he has information from witnesses that he had heard that
Najib knew the murdered victim, Altantuya well.

As I had mentioned the previous posts in sabahcolonised blogspot, the
deaths of the Chief Minsters of Sabah were not investigated properly.
What happened in the past, is clearly shown in this case. The
availability of explosives and the willingness to use them, shows the
link to the number of deaths of prominent politicians, including Tan
Sri Johari.

PETALING JAYA: A private investigator hired by murder accused Abdul
Razak Baginda has made a startling claim that the police covered up
information he gave them that would have linked Deputy Prime Minister
Datuk Seri Najib Razak to the murder victim Altantuya Shaariibuu.

P Balasubramaniam, a former Special Branch policeman, said in a
statutory declaration, that he was told of this by both Abdul Razak
and Altantuya.

Abdul Razak had told him that he met Altantuya through Najib and that
the two had an intimate relationship, he said.

He said that Abdul Razak also confided in him that the Mongolian
woman, victim of a gruesome killing, had demanded US$500,000 (RM1.65
million) as part of her share of a submarine deal.

Balasubramaniam also said Altantuya had told him among other things
that she met Abdul Razak in Singapore with Najib and that she had also
met Abdul Razak and Najib at a dinner in Paris.

He said he told the police everything when he was arrested for seven
consecutive days and asked to give a statement in late 2006.

However, when his statement was finally recorded, the information
regarding the relationship between the DPM and Altantuya was left out
by the police.

Balasubramaniam also said when he gave evidence in the trial in Shah
Alam High Court, the prosecutor did not ask him any questions in
respect of Altantuya?s relationship with Najib and the phone call he
received from DSP Musa Safri, who is Najib?s aide-de-camp (ADC).

Musa Safri, according to Balasubramaniam, called him when two
Mongolian girls, a Mr Ang and another Mongolian girl called Amy turned
up at Abdul Razak Baginda?s house enquiring the whereabouts of
Altantuya.

?I received a call on my handphone from Musa Safri and duly handed the
phone to a Dang Wangi (police) inspector. The conversation lasted
three-four minutes after which he (the inspector) told the girls to
disperse and to go to see him the next day,? he said.

Abdul Razak was charged with abetting Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri and
Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar in the murder of Altantuya, 28. All three
face the death penalty if convicted.

Abdul Razak is a close adviser to Najib while Azilah and Sirul were
members of the DPM?s security team.

Balasubramaniam also said that when he was with Abdul Razak at the
latter?s lawyer?s office the morning Abdul Razak was arrested, he was
shown an SMS, allegedly from Najib, telling the former to stay cool as
he was meeting the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan to
resolve the matter.

?Shortly thereafter at about 7.30am, Abdul Razak received an sms from
Najib and showed the message to both myself and his lawyer. This
message read as follows: I am seeing IGP at 11am today? matter will be
solved? be cool.?

Najib had previously denied knowing Altantuya. On Tuesday, Najib?s
wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor also said she was innocent of her
alleged involvement in Altantuya?s case.

Recently, Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamarudin in a statutory
declaration had alleged that Rosmah was one of the three people
present when the body of Altantuya was blown up with explosives on Oct
19, 2006.

Balasubramaniam spoke and released his 16-page statutory declaration
at a press conference organised by the de facto Opposition leader
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who himself is under police investigation
after a former party worker had alleged he was sodomised by Anwar.

Anwar, who has accused Najib of being behind the sodomy accusation,
has demanded an investigation into the alleged attempt by the police
to suppress information about the relationship between the DPM and
Altantuya.

Bala was at the press conference with his counsel Americk Sidhu. When
asked why he signed the statement when no one forced him to do so,
bala said he was desperate to leave the lock-up.

Below are excerpts of the Q&A:

Q: Bala, why did you take so long to come out ?
Americk: I represent him and I have instruction from him (to answer
questions).
The reason is very simple. Bala was waiting for the prosecution to
lead the evidence but the prosecution case was just shut very
recently. That?s the reason why he was so surprised (the information
he gave was not produced in court) and this was part of the reasons he
came out with the sworn statement.

Q: Why did he sign the police statement if things were omitted?
Americk: Bala said he was in the lock-up for seven consecutive days.
All he wanted to do was to go home. So instead of arguing with the
police what should be in the statement or not, he was happy to sign
the statement and leave.

Q: Was he forced to sign the statement?
Bala and Americk shook their heads.

Q: It was an important statement and you were not forced to sign it.
Yet you went ahead to sign because you want to go home?
Bala: In the lock-up, I did not have good vegetarian food. That?s why
(after seven days) when they brought the statement (and) asked me to
sign, I just (went) through it... if you have experience inside (a)
lock-up, definitely you will sign the statement... because you (want)
to go out, because I have three children. For what reason they put me
in the lock-up? There?s no reason for me to be arrested under 302 (of
the Penal Code for murder).

In the first place, I should not be in the lock-up (because) they can
call me (anytime) to take (my) statement. Even (then Deputy Public
Prosecutor) Sallehuddin (Saidin) did that, he took 73 pages of
statement. But he is (no longer) the DPP. He was removed, why?

Q: When Sallehuddin was in charge, did he record what you have said?
Bala: I think so.

Q: How do you know for sure that the sms was from Najib?
Bala: I was just sitting beside Razak when we met in the lawyer?s
office. He told me that he had sent a sms to Najib but then he never
received a reply. But when we?re sitting together, he received the
sms. That?s when he showed to me the sms and to the lawyer.

Q: Did you confirm the information (about Najib) that you got from
Razak and Altantuya?
Americk: If you don?t mind, I want to answer on behalf of Bala. This
is something we wanted to emphasise from the beginning, that what Bala
had said in his statutory declaration is not a statement of the truth.
It is a statement of what was said to him by Razak Baginda and
Altantuya.

So, he is not saying what he heard is absolute gospel truth. You must
distinguish between these two. So, I think it?s difficult for Bala to
answer your question (as) he just took down what was told to him.
Whether it?s true or not, that is another matter, he doesn?t know.

Q: Bala, were you informed when Najib met Altantuya in Singapore?
Bala: I am not very sure (but) it was at a diamond exhibition in
Singapore.

Q: How do you know that they met?
Americk: Again like I said we don?t know for sure. This was just what
was told to him. So we can?t answer you whether it?s a truth or not.

Q: You plan to submit the declaration to the court, or what is your
plan?
Americk: I think this pc (press conference) today is to bring to light
that there is this evidence available.

Philippines has sovereignty to Half of Sabah

Remember that ONLY HALF OF SABAH. Not the whole of Sabah, and it does
not include the parts that have the petroleum reserves, not even in
the Spratlys.

This geographical distribution is clearly written in the lease
agreement with Chartered Company and later on honoured by the British
and Malaysian governments through payments of these lease money to the
claimants to the Sulu Sultan throne.

The article below shows one of such claimant and it was clearly stated
that there is no longer a direct descencent of the Sultan, only his
second cousins. Datu Mudarasulail Kiram is one of them but he is a
Malaysian citizen.

Unlike the lease agreements for Hong Kong and Macau, there is no time
limit to the lease of Sabah to Chartered Company. So theoretically, as
long as the lease payments are made, Malaysia has sovereignty over
Sabah.

Since Malaysia does not recognise any of the claimants as the Sultan
of Sulu, while the Philippines appointed one of the claimants to the
throne, no matter how disputed the Sulu Sultanate is, the Philippines
can claim sovereignty over half of Sabah through the Sulu Sultanate
that are based in the Philippines.

What strikes me the most about the ICJ judgement on Batu Putih is the
transfer of sovereignty from Johor to Malaysia even without any
documents that were suddenly missing. In the case of Sabah, the
documents most certainly exist, in London because court judgments were
already been made in favour of some descendants of the Sulu Sultan, in
a British colonial court in Sabah. This is also in addition to
documents kept by these descendents.

The ICJ and international players don't seem to take into account the
views of the citizens. It is proven in the Hong Kong, Macau and even
Batu Putih cases. The Cobbold Commission conducted in Sabah prior to
the formation of Malaysia was not recognised by the Philippines so it
should be valid only for voicing out the views of Sabahans in those
days. Only one third was roughly was in favour of Malaysia. one third
only agree with conditions.

Since these conditions as written by the 20 point agreement was not
adhered to by Malaysia, it shows that two third of Sabahans had
rejected Malaysia. Will Sabahans be allowed to be independent? Not if
we study the cases in the return of Hong Kong and Macau to China.

Also as being noted in the Sipadan and Batu Putih cases, sovereignty
lies to the the party that defends and develop these sovereignty since
the beginning. The Philippines and Sulu descendents in the
Philippines, that are now citizens of the Philippines, had defended
these rfights the most.

The Malaysian government and descendents of the Sulu sultan in Sabah
had never been known to defend the sovereignty of the Sulu sultanate
over half of Sabah. Prefering to assume that Malaysia has already got
the sovereignty by virtue of it being within its territory. Just like
the Batu Putih case with Singapore. Malaysia had never recognised any
of the descendents as the rightful Sultan, unlike the Philippines.

Although earlier on I suggested that Sabahan descendents of the Sulu
Sultanate were to elect one of them as the Sultan, and claim
historical sovereignty rights over Sabah and Souther Philippines, it
is a case of it being too late. The ICJ case of Batu Putih is an eye
opener. Malaysia had lost sovereignty rights over Batu Putih because
it didn't protest the developments by Singapore on that island for so
long. Protesting later on was too late as Malaysia has already lost
its case.

This analysis is getting too long.

Given the chances of the Philippines rights over Sabah to be almost a
certainly, will half of Sabah be returned to the Philippines? Very
extremely unlikely on its own free will. Its citizens and government
have little respect fo the law, let alone international law.

One sore point is the Limbang area that had never been surrendered by
Brunei to Rajah Brooke and therefore to Malaysia, but Sarawakians in
other parts apart from Limbang and Malaysians in general will
certainly oppose any attempt to return Limbang to Brunei, even if
given compensations. I'm sure the LImbang residents will be happy to
become the citizens of Brunei, because they are Bruneians by race, and
very different from other Malaysian races.

Despite revelations of corruption of judges caught in video and
photographs, and no action being done to these judges, the government
is still overwhelmingly voted into power. Many judges even openly
stated in the newspapers that they had never been brainwashed to be
biased towards the government in a boot camp, despite being told to
keep an egg in their pockets all week and to obey junior members as
their leaders and being severely punished for
any dissent. These judges had to be so pathetic or just plain liars
not to even recall any of these improper behaviors in any boot camp,
but one judge remembered well and now recorded it in his court.

The only way for the Philippines to get Malaysia to court is by
invading Sabah forcefully. The Philippines used to be the most
advanced nation in South East Asia before it was destroyed by
corruption in the Marcos era and still reeling from this corruption
but they are making lots of progress. Their IT experts are getting
much better and they are well known in modifying their jeeps as buses,
called Jeepneys.Their civil engineering is also excellent as shown by
the road that they had built in Semporna that still lasted in pristine
condition for more than 20 years, whereas Malaysian built roads could
only last three months, as shown by the roads in Sandakan.

Malaysia on the other hand, is now rotting with corruption and
stupidity. Their buildings even when new started crumbling and
leaking. Malaysian car industry may appear big, but it is mostly
outsourced. Outsourcing is the order of the day, from IT to hard
engineering. There is no pride in modifying themselves. Its army is
also untested.They had only fought against communist guerrillas and
unsuccessfully at that.

Marcos had ordered such as invasion before but the Muslims in the
Southern Philippines that were used as the soldiers, rebelled and led
to the formation of MNLF, led by Nur Misuari. Now these same soldiers
are the one demanding that Sabah be returned to the Philippines. Many
of them already got Malaysian identity cards, and can speak Malay very
well as well as knowing the areas intimately. Many of the illegal and
legal immigrants in Sabah are Filipinos who are ill treated by corrupt
soldiers and policemen and will certainly have a grudge against
Malaysian government officers. They have better motivation and
knowledge than these West Malaysian soldiers and policemen that only
stay in Sabah for a few years. Nowadays, even policemen are mostly not
Sabahans.

Many West Malaysians still think that Sabah is just as big as Pahang.
Even those that have stayed for a few years in Kota Kinabalu does not
know how far Tawau is and I I don't think West Malaysians will want to
defend Sabah to the death. They only want to steal its resources to be
brought back to Malaya. That is why they are so corrupted and
arrogantly stupid in Sabah. I'm afraid that Yong Teck Lee and Judge
Ian Chin and other warriors of justices and rights, are just too late.

Strangely, I don't blame these corrupt and stupid people. I blame ICJ
and the international committee such as those in the Cobbold
Commission. They should think more of the inhabitants of the land.
They should not allow people to steal from others just because some do
not defend their rights, such as the case with Singapore, and to
respect the wishes of the people by holding proper democratic
elections in Hong Kong, Macau and Sabah. Giving immunity to Mugabe and
his kingpins will only make it worse. Similarly with Myanmar. Justice
must be served even if it means lots of lives were lost.

Now I see Sukarno as the real hero of Sabah. I should read the words
that Sukarno had used in defernding Sabah instead of reading biased
official historical records. Tun Mustapha and Fuad Stephens were just
greedy leaders that were so impatient to get dirty rich but in the end
they fell victims themselves.

DAILY EXPRESS NEWS Cops urged to monitor Sulu throne pretender

Kota Kinabalu: The police have been urged to monitor the activities of
a so-called Sultan of Sulu, Esmail Kiram II, who has been visiting
districts in the East Coast since last Friday.

Sabah Sulu Cultural Association (SSCA) President Datu Mudarasulail
Kiram @Datu Paijal said he was worried after hearing Esmail, who is
among the many claimants to the throne of the Sulu Sultanate, had come
to Sabah for a visit.

"If he is here just for a courtesy visit then it is all right but what
I am worried is that he (Esmail) may have ulterior motives," he said
Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters at his office in the Sinsuran shop complex here,
Mudarasulail said a big banner had been put up in Semporna welcoming
the arrival of Esmail but it had already been taken down by the
authorities.

"As far as I am concerned, Sulu has no more Sultan because it is now
under the Republic of the Philippines. Where in the world do we find a
republic that has a Sultan?," he asked.

Mudarasulail said, in fact, he is the recognised heir to the throne as
he is receiving the cession money of RM5,300 per year from the
Malaysian Government that is paid to the Sulu Sultanate.

Based on the line of succession of the Royal Sultans of Sulu,
Mudarasulail is the first son of the late Sultan Makuttah A. Kiram who
was the first son of Sultan Muhammad Esmail Kiram 1 (1947-1973).

According to him, Esmail Kiram II who is now visiting Sabah is
supposedly his uncle but even though he was fathered by Datu Raja Muda
Punjungan Kiram, the second son of Sultan Mawalil Wasit Kiram (the
father of Muhammad Esmail Kiram I) he has no royal blood.

"I for one agree that the Sulu claim on Sabah is no longer valid
firstly because before achieving independence in 1963 the Cobbold
Commission found that the majority of the people in Sabah wanted to be
part of Malaysia," he said.

"Secondly, if you lease something but did not service it, after
sometime it lapses and would be no more," he said.

He feared that Esmail Kiram II together with his delegation are in
Sabah following instructions from Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF)
chief, Nur Misuari, who was getting the Philippine Government to
revive the claim on Sabah.

"I know for a fact that Esmail and Nur Misuari are good friends," he
said, adding that the authorities should also check whether they had
obtained the necessary documents if they were to hold a procession in
Lahad Datu.

Mudarasulail urged Malaysians of Sulu descendants and those who are
working in Sabah not to be influenced by Esmail.

"I am also willing to help the Malaysian Government fight the case in
the International Court of Justice if it comes to that," he said,
adding that he is a full-fledged Malaysian who just wants to live in
peace and harmony as well as enjoy the benefits of development.

Mudarasulail, who is an Umno member, expressed his intention to enter
the political fray by contesting for the Umno Lahad Datu division

Sabah's Leaders must be given primary school lessons

This uneducated idiot that the KL politicians want to push as
Sabahan's leader need to be taught basic primary school mathematics.

The 20 billions that has not even been delivered is Dog's leftover
ONLY.

Where does this 20 billion come from?? It is from Sabah, idiot.
Stolen from Sabah and then given back crumbs to Sabah so that Sabah
will be the poorest in the whole world.

We are fast on the way. There is little hope for our children. They
must be prepared to work overseas whereas the poorest people on earth,
such as Timor-timor will be employed as workers displacing Sabahans.
Even Myanmar is as rich as SAbah that is why very few of them will
want to work in Sabah given the low paying conditions.

The 20 billion is only 7.9 % of the National budget, but Sabah's
population is 13% and area is 25%.

The fair allocation is as indicated by the Education allocation of
15%, but even this is low when compared with the inflationary
pressures as a result of Federal Government deliberate policies. Every
import must go through Kuala Lumpur, even those from Brunei. Why?
Import had to be declared only in Kuala Lumpur.

In order to be fair, not even enough to reduce our poverty rate, the
allocation should be doubled.
The 1 billion is pitiful. What is needed is 3 billion more in order to
be FAIR ONLY, not even enough to address our poverty rate.

Sabah's poverty rate can only be reduced with excess budget allocation
in order to catch up with the rest of Malaysia.

Lajim: Be grateful for Sabah progress

SUNGAI PETANI: Sabah could not have achieved progress today without
adequate financial help from the Federal Government, said Beaufort MP
Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin.

Hitting out at the Sabah Progressive Party's planned vote of no-
confidence against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, he
said SAPP president Datuk Yong Teck Lee should be thankful for the
efforts taken by Barisan Nasional in developing Sabah.

He said the people would not forget that when Parti Bersatu Sabah
pulled out from Barisan in 1990, development in Sabah was affected and
funds from the Federal Government were not readily available.

"People must realise that it will be a loss for the people of Sabah if
we go on fighting with the Federal Government," he said.

"We have UMS (Universiti Sabah Malaysia), a RM20bil allocation under
the Ninth Malaysia Plan, a RM1bil allocation announced by the Prime
Minister during his recent visit to Sabah and RM1.76bil in soft loans.

"Where did all the money come from if not from the Federal Government?

"We must be thankful for this and continue to give our support to the
Federal Government," Lajim, who is also Deputy Transport Minister,
said after opening a state-level campaign at Dataran MPSP to encourage
the wearing of rear seat belts and crash helmets here on Saturday.

Lajim is grateful for the underdevelopment of Sabah to the extent that
Sabah is now among the poorest in the whole world. I don't think the
federal government is happy until Sabah is absolutely the poorest in
the whole world with the current budget allocation.

With only RM50 million per year for Sabah's roads, that is more than
25% the size of the whole of Malaysia, which is less than 1% of the
National budget for Road Development, the road to Sandakan City, with
a population of more than 100,000, and the largest producer of Palm
Oil in Malaysia but among the poorest in the whole world, with roads
that are much worse than those going to Batak Regioins of Indonesia,
that I visited more than 20 years ago.

Even 20 years ago, Indonesia is full of big buildings, much more than
those in Sabah. Similarly for Manila. If you watch discovery channels
of places that we thought were poor such as Rwanda, Somalia, it is
obvious that their houses are much better and larger than most of the
houses in Sabah, that are still full of rusty zinc roofs, even right
in the city centres.

Is there any promise of addressing the situation? NONE whatsover so
why should Lajim be happy about NOTHING.

The budget remains less than 13% or 25% that Sabah deserves, at least
to take into account of its size and population. Any less, will mean a
further deterioration of the economy of Sabahans.

There is no promise to REDUCE POVERTY!!! Only HARDCORE poverty, by
giving them zinc roofs. Many Sabahans are not even qualified despite
having no income, nobody else to support them, just because they look
healthy but heavily in debt, tying to set up shops among the poorest
people that cannot even pay their rice.

In the case of Doni, the primary school boy that committed suicide
because of hardcore poverty, despite having no father, a sick mother,
with many more brothers and sisters, and given only RM60 per month by
the state government welfare. The federal government does not even
bother to help despite garnering 95% of Sabah's revenue.

Unfortunately Filipinoes get the most help because they know how to
pretend to be poor by not even bothering to look after their healths
or look for jobs or businesses.

Lajim may look wealthy because of the portions of the inadequate
budget allocation for Sabah but he is surrounded by poor people that
he can easily bribe or threaten. Just look at Zimbabwe. Despite the
whole nation crumbling to dust, Mugabe is still very rich, and still
get much support from armed men, that he paid to steal from the
majority of the masses.

This is the reason why the GINI(income gap) for Malaysia is the
highest in South East Asia, among the highest in Asia, second only to
Papua New Guinea. Lajim driving his luxury cars, while Doni's family
were given only RM60 per month, with little chance of business or
job,simply because there is no business in Sabah due to the lack of
investment.

The budget is so pitiful inadequate that in order to survive,
contractors in Sabah had to resort to cheap foreign labourers that are
underpaid and discriminated, from the poorest regions on earth such as
Timor-timor and Myanmar. Even here the specifications had to be
dewatered to the point that road thickness that require 6 inches were
only built as 3 inches.

I heard about these stories more than 10 years ago but dismiss them as
unlikely until I read the budget allocations for Sabah that is way
below our load in terms of population and area. Despite what I had
pointed out, people like Lajim still do not even bother to look into.

Lajim is an uneducated person. He does not even know how to count.
Percentages are meaningless to him. No wonder he is happy to be given
only Dog's leftover.

funds from the Federal Government were not readily available.

"People must realise that it will be a loss for the people of Sabah if
we go on fighting with the Federal Government," he said.

"We have UMS (Universiti Sabah Malaysia), a RM20bil allocation under
the Ninth Malaysia Plan, a RM1bil allocation announced by the Prime
Minister during his recent visit to Sabah and RM1.76bil in soft loans.

"Where did all the money come from if not from the Federal Government?

"We must be thankful for this and continue to give our support to the
Federal Government," Lajim, who is also Deputy Transport Minister,
said after opening a state-level campaign at Dataran MPSP to encourage
the wearing of rear seat belts and crash helmets here on Saturday.

Malaysian Government does not encourage Flying

Although Malaysia touts as being very advanced to the point of sending
astronauts to Space, they are more likely space tourists because they
are not pilots.

Even in Malaysia, there is no encouragement in getting involved in
Flying as shown by this statement by the Sultan Azlan himself.
Actually it is a fact.

Despite Profefssional Pilots being recognised as the highest paying
job at entry level in Malaysia, at RM10,000 a month, there is no
scholarship on offer for students who want to become Professional
Pilots.

Even Aircraft Maintainance courses, are not given any offer for
scholarships. Luckily parents such as myself can afford to contribute
some financial aids in addition to the insufficient PTPTN loans.

KWSP does not recognise flying as one of the courses that it allows
for withdrawal. It is considered similar to learning how to drive a
car or motorcycle. In fact driving is part of the skills that is most
important for many jobs and yet the Malaysian government does not
encourage it.

It encourages Malaysians to be passengers instead of being the
drivers, as clearly exemplified by the so called ASTRONAUTS.

One excuse could be that driving can be used for private purposes.
Aren't education useful for recreational private purposes as well?
This is especially true for the PPL, private pilot license. As its
name imply, it is a license to allow a person to fly a limited type of
aeroplane for private purposes, but it was clearly stated that it can
also be for business purposes, as long as the pilot is not paid for
flying the aeroplane.

Isn't it similar to our normal car driving license. Of course it does
not have any private mentioned anywhere but its terms and conditions
are very clear. You cannot use the license to ask money from
passengers. In order to ask money from passengers, he needs to get
another type of driving license. Similarly for aeroplanes. I heard of
a doctor who pilots an aeroplane whenever he visits the Pamol
Plantation. Unfortunately he his plane crashed while taking off.

Now Pamol Plantation is accessible by good roads so the airfield there
may not be maintained any more. However there are many other estates
where it is worthwhile to fly. In Australia, many farmers fly
aeroplanes.

Aeroplanes are no longer expensive. Ultralights in Europe, or Sport
Planes in USA can cost less than RM100,000. However, it is the
certification and licensing that is most difficult in Malaysia. In
Malaysia, it only allows these planes if they are assembled and built
by the pilot himself. He cannot import the plane readily built.

For a backward nation like Malaysia, it is no longer surprising.
Malaysian is in the level of the worst nations on earth, the sub-
sahara, such as Eritrea. Our GINI, i.e. gap in national income is
similar to these backward nations.

Even Eritrea operate more advanced jets than Malaysia. They operated
Su27 earlier than even Malaysia getting its Su-30, which is the
updated version of Su27, but Eritrea operated its Su27 20 years ago.

The only loud mouth that Malaysian government tells its people is that
it is well developed. Well, after seeing Dicovery Channels of the so
called backward nations such as Rwanda, Somalia and Palestine, it is
very clear that these nations are also well developed, judged from
their houses, all large stone buildings. Even the police cars operated
by the Hamas administration are much better than the Kancils that the
Malaysian police use.

Most Malaysians are still stuck with small terrace houses or houses
with rusted zinc roofs, as clearly shown by UN statistics. Abdullah's
claims that our average income has increase by 4% per year as a sign
that Malaysia is improving, is actually a lie. It is lower than
inflation and with the highest GINI in Asia, second only to Papua New
Guinea, most Malaysians don't earn that much.

The worst affected are Sabahans and Sarawakians. Its oil is given less
than 5% royalty, and its gas is just stolen for free, despite the
destructions of our environment and therefore the livelihood of our
fishermen. No wonder Sabah is among the poorest in the whole world, in
the same level as Myanmar, Acheh and Sulawesi. If the Malaysian GINI
is 0.49, Sabah should be 0.7, probably the highest in the world.

What is worst is that, there is no sign of it being improved. Budget
is still at 8% for a population of 13% and area of 25%. What is
promised is RM1 bilion, not even sure if it were for one year. If it
were for one year, then the budget allocation should have been
increased by 20% of the 8%, making it only 9.5%, which is still
inadequate.

The Education Ministry is the only ministry that address Sabah more
fairly in giving it 16% of the national budget in Education but it is
too little and too late. Many schools in Kalabakan still do not have
chairs and tables. It may appear to be generous, but it shows that the
Malaysian government even discriminate Sabah further especially in
other areas. With Education given 16% allocation, it means that other
departments are given much less than 8%. For example, the allocation
for roads in Sabah is only RM50 million per year.

One reason why there is a reasonable allocation for Sabah's education
is that its top leaders in Sabah are staffed by Sabahans and are still
professionals, i.e. they are teachers or lecturers, unlike the PTD
staff that normally head other departments. Unfortunately PTD is
already encroaching into the professionalism of the Education
Department by installing their officers in the Education Departments.
Sooner or later, the leaders of these Education Departments will be
the unprofessional PTDs.

A clear example is the case of the Sabahan top Federal Government
Financial Officier in Sabah, who is a geologist. I also heard cases of
a Librarian heading the Immigration Department. Or Accountant heading
an engineering department or vice versa. These accountants and
engineers may be professionals if properly certified and trained but
putting them in other fields will negate their potential to be
professionals. Unless, the Mr. Geologist can take Accounting exams to
be certified by the Accounting body.

Malaysians must wake up. We are already low down in the world ranking.
It is only a matter of time we will be the lowest. Lower than even
Papua New Guinea and Timur-timur. I'm sure Sabah will join these
poorest groups much earlier, if not already in these groups given the
high inflation in Sabah.

Flying academies in the country should give equal opportunities to all
Malaysians who wish to undergo pilot training regardless of the
candidates' financial background, said the Sultan of Perak, Sultan
Azlan Shah.
The Ruler urged all agencies responsible for providing financial
assistance to give special consideration to those from the lower-
income group to take up pilot training which involved substantial
cost.

"The flying academies must give equal opportunities for training to
everyone. The agencies responsible for sponsoring students should
provide scholarships and loans to assist students from the lower-
income group to train at these flying academies," he said.

Sultan Azlan Shah said this at the conclusion of training for the
'Military Wing Standard' (MWS), 'Commercial Pilot License/
Helicopter' (CPL/H) and 'Multi Engine Conversion/Instrument Rating
(Helicopter)' (MEC/IR/H) licences at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport,
here today. Also present was the Raja Muda of Johor, Tunku Ismail
Ibrahim.

All the courses were carried out at the Integrated Training & Services
Sdn Bhd (IT&S) located adjacent to the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport,
here.
Currently, the cost of training to be a helicopter pilot at the IT&S
is RM475,000 for a period of 18 months while the course for flying
fixed-wing aircraft is RM232,000 for a period of 18 months.

Nine helicopter pilot trainees from the Army Air Unit (PUTD),
including a younger brother of the Raja Muda of Johor, Tunku Idris
Tunku Ibrahim Ismail, and four pilot trainees from the Royal Malaysian
Navy (RMN) received their `wings' and certificates for the MWS course
from Sultan Azlan Shah.

Nine pilot trainees from the Fire and Rescue Department completed
their training for the CPL/H course while 13 pilots from the PUTD who
completed their MEC/IR/H also received their wings and certificates
from the Sultan of Perak.

Malay with 15 A1 didn't get any Scholarship offer!

Whereas a Chinese with only 12 A1 and with parents who can afford to
send her elder sister to Australia and sending her for private A level
courses is given a Scholarship/Loan.

With the quota for non-bumiputras increased to 45% from a previous
10%, this will make it even worse for Malays and bumiputras.

I met his father at school. I suspect the Sabah State government
didn't offer any scholarship because they are sure that he will get a
PSD scholarship. But that was on the 21st of Mei.

If this is true it is a very bad situation where qualified and
brilliant natives are derived of their rights and worse discriminated
in Malaysia that is supposed to have special privileges for Malays.

The selfish racist chinese have been lying all this while.

I shall see the father in the next few weeks in order to confirm this
story further.

I just hope that the authorities will correct their mistakes. But this
is not a strange happening. I heard also that a Sabahan who got 10As
didn't get any offer at any Local University, let alone scholarship
for overseas studies.
